Even though summer’s over, we’re still thinking about Summer Day Camp! On November 23, we hosted our annual Summer Day Camp Reunion for all campers and staffers who participated in Summer Day Camp 2014 at Asphalt Green’s Battery Park City campus.

“Our goal with the Summer Day Camp Reunion is to keep campers and families engaged as part of the Asphalt Green family year round—to feel a sense of community, and extend the fun, fitness and friendship of summer far beyond the last day of camp,” says Logan Roquemore, Asphalt Green’s Battery Park City Camp Manager. “We also hope to get campers and parents excited for next summer and give them a preview of the new programs we will introduce in 2015.”

The reunion was a great success with more than 80 people attending and enjoying a little bit of camp spirit on a cold fall day. Campers were able to work on arts and crafts projects and participate in their favorite camp sports like basketball and dodgeball. We also treated everyone to a pizza party from Tre Sorelle, a new food vendor we will work with during the summer.

Campers had a great time reliving camp for an afternoon! “Parents were grateful to see their children happy and engaged, and it got me even more pumped for the first day of camp next year,” says Roquemore.
