Senior campers want to experience activities designed for Tweens - not their younger brothers and sisters. Our Senior Camp is a hybrid program that makes the transition from Junior Camp a smooth one. Senior Campers experience a traditional camp day focusing on Asphalt Green's world-class sports and fitness instructions with a combination of day and overnight trips to round out the summer. Senior Campers gain the experience they need to grow into responsible, mature teens.
Senior Camp Swim Instruction
Instructor- Counselor-to-Swimmer Ratios for Senior Camp: 1:8
Swim instruction for Senior campers is tailored to suit their age and skill level. Swimmers are evaluated and sorted by ability level. New swimmers work on swimming fundamentals, while more experienced ones work to refine basic skills and progress to more advanced levels. In addition, Senior campers will enjoy recreational swim after their lessons.
Senior Camp Sports Instruction
Senior campers will receive sports instruction in baseball/softball, basketball, flag football and soccer. Over the course of the summer, they will develop new skills, enhance skills they already have, and participate in friendly, competitive games. All Senior Camp sports activities are designed with campers of both genders in mind.
Specialty Activities & Camp Favorites
Senior campers enjoy specialty activities, such as arts & crafts, yoga, martial arts, and circus arts. We’re pleased to announce the return of circus arts, which was met with great enthusiasm last summer. The program introduces acrobatics, tumbling, juggling, stilt-walking, and clowning. In addition, all Senior campers participate in fun special events such as interactive performances and concerts, as well as a festive Camp Carnival at the end of the summer.
Senior Camp Electives
Senior campers will have the opportunity to take ownership of a part of their daily schedule by choosing an elective activity during the afternoon. Electives may include board games, ping pong, capture the flag, and sports-related games.
Trips
Trip Ratio: 1:5 for all groups
Alternating between two and three days a week, Senior Campers take a recreational and/or educational trip within the tri-state area, including both day and overnight trips. These trips teach active lifestyle behaviors while giving the campers new and exciting camp experiences. Some of these trips are led by Outdoor Bound, an education-based adventure company that provides campers with unique outdoor experiences.
