Asphalt Green Members to Jump Start 2015 Fitness Goals with Innovative New Exercise Tracking System MYZONE

– Asphalt Green is NYC’s only fitness club to give MYZONE Physical Activity Belts to members for FREE –

(New York, NY) – In time to help New Yorkers jump start their New Year’s resolutions, sports and fitness organization Asphalt Green will begin providing members of its Upper East Side Fitness Center with free access to MYZONE, the revolutionary motivational exercise tracking system.

MYZONE is the only exercise tracking system that provides real-time feedback of exercise intensity as well as wirelessly uploads exercise data. Unlike other activity trackers that only count steps or estimate calories burnt, MYZONE uses a heart-rate monitor to track effort, guaranteeing accurate and personalized results.

“Bringing the cutting-edge technology of MYZONE to Asphalt Green is the latest step in our commitment to helping New Yorkers of all ages and skill levels reach their personal fitness goals,” said Maggy Siegel, Executive Director, Asphalt Green. “Our members will love the extra motivational push of real time feedback as they workout, as well as the opportunity to track their longer term progress.”

Beginning on January 5, Asphalt Green will become the first fitness club in New York City to give MYZONE Physical Activity Belts to members – and personal training clients – for free.

Worn around the chest, the belts transmit heart rate, calories and effort in real time to large display screens throughout the Fitness Center. The data is converted into MYZONE Effort Points (MEPs), with a focus on rewarding effort rather than fitness. Each user’s effort level is displayed through an on-screen tile, the color of which will represent their effort zone.

Through goal setting, social accountability, real time leaderboards, fun challenges and the opportunity to earn badges and climb status rankings, MYZONE taps into users’ competitive instincts.

“When Asphalt Green members pick up their free MYZONE belts they are taking the next step in committing to a healthy lifestyle, becoming accountable for their fitness, and ensuring they are working out smarter, not harder,” said Jennifer Leibmann, Associate Director of Fitness, Asphalt Green. “MYZONE will also enhance the ability of Asphalt Green’s expert fitness staff to help members get the most out of their workouts, whether in a one-on-one session with a personal trainer, or in one of our many group exercise classes.

All workout data is wirelessly uploaded to a logbook that can be accessed online or through the free MYZONE Lite App, so that members can monitor their progress over time. The belts store up to 16 hours of activity, allowing members to take MYZONE on the road and track their exercise outside of the gym too.
