Asphalt Green's AGUA Masters adult swim team won four gold, four silver and three bronze medals at the 2009 USMS
Long Course Nationals. Our medalists ranged in age from 35-80 years.
Coming off a year in which seven of its swimmers competed
in the Olympic trials, our AGUA youth swim team delivered an
outstanding performance at the 2009 Junior National Champion-
ships, taking second overall in the women's competition. The
team set 16 AGUA team records and six Metro LSC records at
the meet. Two swimmers Sara Giberson (age 16) and Annie Zhu
(14) were named to the National Junior Team.
The Asphalt Green Wave youth soccer program has grown to
20 teams with nearly 300 players. Three of the girls teams
U11 Green, U12 Green and U14 Green finished first in their
leagues in Spring, 2009. The U11 Green Wave boys team competed
in the 2009 U.S. National Futsal Championships and made it to the
State Cup semifinals.
