Designed to prepare candidates for the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification course. Participants should be comfortable swimming multiple laps continuously and treading in deep-water.

This is not a certification course. This preparation program is designed to improve each candidate's ability to successfully navigate a certification course.

Instructors will focus training on stroke technique and endurance, as well as general life-saving skills, including surface dives, deep-water submersion, and towing.

Sessions are 1.5 hours in duration for maximum benefit. Participants who demonstrate the ability to successfully pass the American Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification course pre-requisite skills will become applicable for scholarship in an upcoming certification-course with Asphalt Green.

Why Attendance Matters:To ensure the success of all participants, if an athlete registers and does not attend, they are subject to removal in subsequent sessions.

Learn To Swim: This program will focus on water acclimation, breath control, buoyancy, and movement. Participants will work on submersion, proper breathing techniques, and the fundamental skills necessary for front crawl.

Advanced: This program will support swimmers master the fundamentals of freestyle and basic competitive swim techniques. You will delve deep into proper form as the instructor will work with you to make sure you have rhythmic breathing, and appropriate head/body positioning for each movement.

Why Attendance Matters:

To ensure the success of all swimmers and the efficient use of resources, participants must attend at least 75% of sessions. This policy helps foster consistent development and progress. Participants who fail to meet this attendance policy may be subject to removal in subsequent terms.
