I am not the fastest swimmer, not comfortable with all of the strokes, and unsure I can finish an hour-long workout. What level must my swimming be at to join?

  • AGUA Masters welcomes swimmers of all abilities. Our team is made up of people ranging from former collegiate All-Americans to novice swimmers. If you can swim for one hour or 2,000 yards comfortably, our coaching staff can help you improve your skills and endurance. You should be familiar with all four competitive strokes. Workouts are adjusted to take into account each swimmer’s ability level.

What equipment will I need to bring?

  • Please bring a comfortable swimsuit, goggles, towel, pool shoes, and a swim cap. TYR Catalyst Training Paddles and TYR CrossBlade Training Fins are also needed.

Will I be swimming with others my speed?

How far can I expect to swim at each practice?

  • Each workout runs for one to two hours. The coach assigns sets, which vary by stroke, distance, and speed. The faster lanes generally cover over 4,000 yards in a one-hour workout, and the slower lanes cover about 2,000 yards.
