Asphalt Green has been a second home to athletes and fitness enthusiasts of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities for over 50 years. To date, we have taught over 100,000 New Yorkers how to swim, trained collegiate and Olympic athletes, and provide over $40 million in free swim instruction. This year, we provided $1 million in financial assistance to help New Yorkers get active.
Over the years, we’ve transformed the lives of countless New Yorkers. But as our community has grown leaps and bounds, our identity has lagged behind. That’s why we’re thrilled to reveal a new brand that honors our remarkable journey and the impact of our trailblazing mission.
As part of our rebrand, we’re replacing our current logo with one that’s as bold as our mission to transform lives and build community through sports, fitness, and play for all.
Our new logo proudly expresses our ability to lead community members on a fitness journey of growth, strength, and fulfillment. Both the typeface and abbreviated ‘AG’ leverage a linear design to inspire a feeling of ascension. In the ‘A,’ three lines join to create an apex representing our success in helping New Yorkers reach new heights. Meanwhile, the ‘G’ combines curves and diagonals that evoke the movement of the human form and signify our commitment to fitness and recreation.
Most importantly, our refined look unites our programs into a single brand that communicates our commitment to excellence. While our community members may come from our sports teams, fitness centers, camps, community programs, or elsewhere, they are all united by a shared experience of fellowship and support as we partner with them to achieve their goals. Our new look shows that Asphalt Green is more than a destination, but rather, an idea: when everyone can participate in sports, fitness, and play, we all win!
