The idea of Asphalt Green was conceived with a vision of providing New Yorkers equitable access to the transformative power of sports and fitness. This year, we wanted to do something bigger, something that showcased a wider range of all that we do as we marked the 50th anniversary of Asphalt Green’s presence in our community,

For over 25 years, Big Swim Big Kick has been our signature event representing a community-wide celebration of the power of sports and fitness. Each year we have welcomed thousands of children and their families to Asphalt Green for a day of fun. In honor of our 50th anniversary, we announced Big Week, a week-long celebration of the power of sports and fitness for our community that showcased the wide range of all that Asphalt Green has to offer! Asphalt Green is also brought together our philanthropic, business, and community partners at the prestigious Plaza Hotel on Wednesday, May 31 to celebrate our 50th Anniversary Gala and mark 50 years of keeping New Yorkers moving.
