Youth Water Polo
About Youth Water Polo:
Our youth water polo programs feature coed instructional programs and competitive teams for athletes ages 7 to 18 years old. Participants develop technical skills and character traits that set them up for success in and out of the pool.
Our coaching staff has created a unique curriculum to help athletes master the different developmental components of water polo. AGUA Water Polo aims to create a culture of respect, accountability, and discipline through world-class coaching. We produce athletes who are not only successful at the highest level of the sport but are also inspired individuals who strive for success outside of the pool.
Programming operates September through July. Attendance is at the discretion of the athlete. Select practice dates, including our annual facility maintenance are canceled based on facility closures and preset events; those dates are not prorated, and will be communicated to you by the coaching staff directly.
Both annual and month-to-month registration options are available for your convenience:
- Annual memberships foster a team-driven program model, guaranteeing athlete’s program access for the full 11-month season, and empowering group development. Athletes are billed at point of sale; payment plans are available. See Asphalt Green team policies for more information.
- Month-to-month memberships are designed for the athletes who are unable to commit to the full-year. This option is limited in capacity and comes with a surcharge, but allows for more seasonal participation. Athletes are billed on the first of the month; membership requires a 30-day commitment and is continual thereafter; cancelation requires 30 days’ written notice to AGUAWaterPolo@asphaltgreen.org.

Splash Ball (Sat/Sun):
This program is designed for athletes new to water polo. In a team-like training environment, athletes will develop a strong foundation in the sport. Players will develop hand-eye coordination and game strategy, as well as teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship. Coaches will focus on eggbeater kicks, ball handling, passing, shooting and goal tending. Athletes practice up to 2x/week. Ages 7-12 years old.

This program is designed for athletes new to water polo. In a team-like training environment, athletes will develop a strong foundation in the sport. Pre-Competitive (Sun/Mon/Tues/Fri):
Designed for athletes who have water polo experience but are not quite ready for competitive play. This program allows athletes to explore the competitive side of the sport without overcommitting. Players will expand their knowledge of the sport and develop a deeper sense of game strategy, teamwork, accountability, and sportsmanship.Program structure includes chalk-talk, dryland training, and skill development in the pool. Athletes practice up to 4x/week. Ages 12-18 years old.

AGUA Water Polo Club (Sun/Mon/Tues/Wed/Thur/Fri):
The AGUA Water Polo Club is a USA Water Polo competitive youth program and member of the Northeast Zone. Athletes develop technical skills and character traits that set them up for success in and out of the pool. Fees include practice sessions and select team event entries; travel fees not included; team kit sold separately. Athletes practice up to 6x/week. Ages 12-18 years old.
