Looking for a fun way to keep your child active and engaged this summer? Summer Playcation at Major R. Owen’s Health & Wellness Community Center offers the perfect solution!
Operated by the Asphalt Green Summer Day Camp team, Summer Playcation gives kids the chance to participate in a variety of recreational activities that inspire movement, creativity, and connection with their peers.
Each day brings a new mix of sports, swimming, games, arts & crafts, and themed events, led by experienced staff in a fun, inclusive setting. With a strong emphasis on movement, teamwork, and confidence-building, it’s the perfect option for families looking to keep kids active all summer long — without the full-day camp commitment.

Summer Playcation is Asphalt Green’s action-packed, sports-focused day program designed for kids ages 6–12. Hosted at the Major R. Owens Health & Wellness Community Center in Crown Heights, Playcation offers the core elements of summer day camp in a flexible, weekly format.
Please be aware that campers must bring their own nut-free lunch and snacks each day to camp.

Playcation hours are 9am to 4pm, Monday through Friday.
Yes, we offer pre-camp service starting at 7:45am and after-camp service until 5pm each day.
With New York City’s largest indoor turf field, 3 regulation-sized basketball courts, and air conditioning, the Major R. Owens Center has emerged as a state-of-the-art multi-sport facility.
Summer Playcation is perfect for families looking for flexible summer programming — whether your child wants to try new activities, stay active between other summer plans, or just have fun with friends in a safe, welcoming environment.

We do not offer transportation. Our campus is easily accessible via mass transportation:

2, 3, 4, or 5 trains to Franklin Avenue-Medgar Evers College station
– The center is a 5-minute walk from the station.
S (Shuttle) train to Botanic Garden station
– Walk 7 minutes along Washington Avenue to reach Bedford Avenue.

B49 stops directly on Bedford Avenue near the entrance.
B48 stops at Eastern Parkway and Rogers Avenue — just a short walk away.
We do our best to honor at least one campmate request per camper if they are in the appropriate age group and each camper has requested the other.
