Asphalt Green is in search of an exceptional fundraising professional to join the organization’s development program. Reporting to the Chief Development Officer, the Senior Director of Principal Giving will serve as the organization’s principal gifts officer and will lead efforts to secure large, strategic investments from individuals and families in support of Asphalt Green’s mission and work. This position is based on Asphalt Green’s Upper East Side campus.
Salary Range: $170,000 to $190,000
Role Overview
- Build and manage a portfolio of high-capacity donors and prospects capable of making philanthropic commitments of $500,000–$5,000,000+, including Asphalt Green members, parents of athletes enrolled in sports and aquatics programs, and New York City philanthropists aligned with the organization’s mission and campaign vision.
- Partner with the Chief Development Officer to expand the pipeline of principal and leadership gift prospects and drive creative, strategic cultivation and solicitation efforts in support of Asphalt Green’s comprehensive campaign goals.
- Lead highly personalized donor engagement strategies by identifying, qualifying, cultivating, soliciting, closing, and stewarding transformational gifts.
- Conduct prospect research and evaluate constituent portfolios to develop highly personalized engagement, cultivation, and solicitation strategies for major comprehensive campaign commitments.
- Craft compelling fundraising proposals, donor briefings, and engagement materials focused on transformational ideas, capital naming opportunities, and key organizational programs in close collaboration with colleagues across the organization.
- Prepare strategic donor briefings and meeting materials to support effective donor engagement and solicitation efforts.
- Manage donor relationship strategy including communications and follow-ups resulting from prospect meetings and interactions.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of relevant experience, and at least 6 years of experience closing six and seven+ figure commitments and stewarding long-standing relationships with high net-worth individuals.
- Success supporting organizational leadership in donor cultivation and solicitation.
- A strong understanding of and ability to communicate the mission and programs of Asphalt Green.
- Ability to conceptualize and describe funding needs and big ideas in a way that is compelling to prospects, donors, and other stakeholders.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Results-oriented self-starter with an entrepreneurial and innovative spirit.
- Passion for Asphalt Green’s mission and the ability to serve as an ambassador for the organization.
- Authorization to work in the U.S. required.
- A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, is required.
Asphalt Green Upper East Side is looking for a personal trainer to join our small but mighty team of personal trainers and nutrition coaches. The ideal candidate is available to train clients in the evening on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from approximately 3pm to 8pm, is willing to learn Asphalt Green standards from our Head Trainer, and has a genuine interest in growing as a fitness professional and perfecting their craft.
Pay Rate: $45 – $50/hour

Role Overview
- Hold a current certification through one of the nationally accredited industry associations (NASM, ACSM, NSCA, ACE, etc.)
- Hold a current CPR/AED certification
- Provide excellent customer service and help to maintain a positive member experience in the gym
- Work one-on-one, and in small groups with clients to help them define and meet their fitness and health goals
- Write and execute workout plans for clients
- Provide fitness education and advice to gym users
- Knowledge share: work with the Head Trainer and the other personal training team members to expand your knowledge and the team’s knowledge.
- Ability to perform any and all administrative duties related to planning and executing client workouts, reporting hours for payroll, and scheduling training sessions with clients.
- Help maintain the cleanliness and tidiness of the fitness floor.
Qualifications
- 1-5 years of personal training experience working with clients in person
- Demonstrated ability to perform necessary training movements and exercises
- Demonstrated ability to regress or progress clients as needed in all foundational movements
- Excellent communication skills
- Creative thinker and team player
- Demonstrate an ability to teach and motivate others
- Basic understanding of nutrition and weight loss
- Ability to work with many different ages and abilities of people in a commercial gym setting

Asphalt Green Upper East Side is looking to hire an energetic and outgoing group exercise instructor to lead our Outdoor HIIT Camp classes. We are specifically looking for instructors to lead our weekday evening classes.
Pay Rate: $53-$55/hour
Position Type: Part-Time
Role Overview
- Have experience teaching in a group setting using bodyweight resistance, bands, jump ropes and cones.
- Have experience integrating conditioning circuits and resistance training in a group class setting.
- Continually offer feedback to class participants, always coach to the positive.
- Demonstrate all movements properly.
- Have a good movement toolbelt. Instructors should be able to spot movement flaws quickly and correct participants within 1-2 cues.
- Have experience (or be comfortable) being mic’d up.
- Understand that empathy for students brings success to the coach and to the class.
- Ability to lift and move class equipment up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to run, jump, bend, balance, walk, and perform upper and lower body weight-bearing movements.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates will have a current fitness certification from a nationally recognized association (AAFA, ACE, NASM, CF-L1). All candidates must have a valid CPR certification. We offer competitive rates and a positive, welcoming work environment.
Asphalt Green is actively seeking an enthusiastic, engaging, and certified Water Exercise Instructor to lead a variety of water exercise classes at our Upper East Side campus.
Pay Rate: $53/hour

Role Overview
- Teach aquatic fitness classes like Hydro Fit, Warm Water Exercise, and Deep Water Running.
- Plan and lead classes that are safe, effective, and engaging for all participants.
- Demonstrate exercises clearly and use a microphone so everyone can hear instructions.
- Give quick, clear coaching cues to correct form and keep participants safe.
- Offer encouragement and positive feedback to build participants’ confidence.
- Set up, use, and store aquatic equipment like noodles, aqua dumbbells, and barbells.
- Create a welcoming, inclusive environment that keeps participants coming back.
- Build strong relationships with participants through consistency and professionalism.
- Follow Asphalt Green’s policies and safety procedures at all times.
- Keep certifications current and arrive prepared and on time for every class.
Required Qualifications
- Current Water Exercise Certification.
- Current CPR/AED Certification.
- Experience teaching water exercise classes in a group fitness setting.
- Strong movement, coaching, and cueing skills.
- Ability to demonstrate exercises safely and clearly.
- Ability to identify and correct movement concerns using concise and effective cues.
- Comfort using a microphone while teaching.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a welcoming, inclusive, and supportive class environment.
- Ability to assist with setup, breakdown, lifting, and movement of class equipment.
