AG Impact Day is On September 22, 2026
AG Impact Day is Asphalt Green’s dedicated day of giving, honoring our founding vision while investing in the future we’re building together. Alongside fundraising, we’re hosting special moments on campus, including refreshments, giveaways, and more. We’ll share more details as the day gets closer.
For 50 years, Asphalt Green has moved New York City forward: teaching more than 100,000 New Yorkers to swim, restoring active recess in schools across the city, and giving athletes the chance to pursue their dreams. On AG Impact Day, we celebrate that legacy and invest in what comes next.
Every child, every family, and every community deserves the chance to experience world-class programs that let them move, play, and thrive. That’s the promise Asphalt Green was founded on, and it’s the promise we renew each year when our community comes together on September 22.
MAXIMIZE YOUR IMPACT
Sponsor one year of Asphalt green-powered recess for one public school student
Through the Recess Enhancement Program (REP), Asphalt Green partners with local elementary schools to transform recess into a positive experience that supports students’ physical health, social development, and success in the classroom.
Sponsor one child for an entire year of swim lessons
Asphalt Green’s Wave Makers is a public-private partnership program in New York City providing free, comprehensive swimming and water safety lessons to public school students. Since 2024, this program has provided 124,000 swim lessons to 6,000 kids.
Empower a Community Sports Team for a Season
Your support equips one community soccer team for an entire season everything they need to play, grow, and succeed. Asphalt Green’s Community Sports Leagues have welcomed 20,000 young athletes, with more than 1,000 children currently participating.
From Asphalt to opportunity: Our history of community impact
Over 50 years ago, founders George E. and Annette Murphy saw possibility in an abandoned asphalt plant.
Together with the local NYC community, they created Asphalt Green, a place where generations of New Yorkers have learned to swim, discovered a love of sports, improved their health, and built lasting friendships.
Today, we remain true to our founding vision, helping thousands of New Yorkers benefit from sports, fitness, and play programs every day. AG Impact Day is how we keep our story going.

Asphalt Green opens its doors, with the first grass-covered field in the area

Municipal Asphalt Plant officially designated a NYC landmark
