Robert Pleva

Campus: Upper East Side

Years working at Asphalt Green: This will be my first year!

Previous camp experience: I have camp experience working at Brandeis Day Camp and Camp Lincoln, a sleepaway camp in upstate New York.

Reason for becoming division leader: I want to provide a safe and structured learning environment for the campers at Asphalt Green. I also want to make the experience fun and rewarding.

Most looking forward to: I am excited to meet the campers and staff in my division. I am looking forward to collaborating with the staff and other team leaders.

Favorite camp memory: The most rewarding part of my experience was making new friends and going on a variety of different recreational trips. I always enjoyed color war, meeting the staff, and talent shows.

Nicole Biolsi

Campus: Upper East Side

Years working at Asphalt Green: This will be my ninth year.

Reason for becoming division leader: I thoroughly enjoy the job! Instead of getting to know only one group of campers, I get to know the whole division.

Most looking forward to: I’m most looking forward to getting to know a new group of campers and counselors. Summer Day Camp is filled with fun and exciting activities every day, and I cannot wait to see what this summer is all about!

Favorite camp memory: One of the many camps I attended as a child was soccer camp. Soccer is my favorite sport, and I have been playing it for many years. At Summer Day Camp you will always find me playing soccer with the campers and counselors when I have a chance.

Sindy Weisinger

Campus: Upper East Side

Years working at Asphalt Green: This will be my sixth summer.

Reason for becoming division leader: I wanted to be a division leader because I wanted to share my knowledge with others and help out in as many ways as possible. I have a ton of camp spirit and want to share it!

Most looking forward to: I look forward to working with the campers and watching them master new skills.

Favorite camp memory: My favorite part of camp was the friendships that I made!

Katie Zarkin

Campus: Battery Park City

Years working at Asphalt Green: This will be my first summer!

Previous camp experience: I grew up attending an overnight camp in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania.  I loved being at camp so much that I spent the next six summers there as a counselor, lifeguard, division leader, and head counselor!

Reason for becoming division leader: I am so excited to work at Asphalt Green this summer because everyone has been so friendly and seems to love camp just as much as I do!

Most looking forward to: I look forward to working with the counselors and campers in the Pee Wee division and making sure they are happy, safe, and having the best summer ever. I can’t wait to meet all the campers and find out what their favorite activities are at camp!

Favorite camp memory:  Some of my most cherished memories of growing up are of attending sleepaway camp.  My favorite part about camp was spending each day with my friends and participating in different activities like color war, swimming, and gaga! My camp friends are very special to me and, 20 years later, are still some of my closest friends.
