Asphalt Green runs our Recess Enhancement Program (REP) at school P.S. 134/137, where we make exercise and movement a priority during recess. REP Coach Lo-Renzo noticed that the girls at this school did not want to play during recess. To encourage the girls to be more active during recess, he started a basketball league just for girls. He started with 28 girls participating and due to the growing popularity he recently added four more teams for all the new players. We are so proud to see our REP coaches being innovative on the playground and finding ways to get elementary kids excited to play.
