Q: How long have you been working at Asphalt Green?

A: I’ve been working at Asphalt Green for four years.

 

Q: What do you do at Asphalt Green?

A: As Waterproofing site supervisor, I track student attendance and progress, work with closely with teachers, and supervise and assist the instructors. As a swim instructor, I teach students of all ages and skill levels, from those learning basic swim skills to those training to swim competitively.  

 

Q: What is your favorite aspect of working at Asphalt Green?

A: I love working with children, teaching them what I know, and seeing their excitement when they learn something new.

 

Q: What is one of your fondest memories of working at Asphalt Green so far?

A: I will always remember when a student from our Waterproofing program told me swimming boosted his confidence and inspired him to play other sports.

 

Q: How did you get into the aquatics industry?

A: I started as a lifeguard during my freshman year of high school. In 2011, I became a full-time swim instructor.

 

Q: When did you learn to swim?

A: I learned to swim in the Dominican Republic when I was 5 years old.

 

Q: What is your best swim tip for others?

A: Just swim. Don’t overthink it.

 

Q: What is a fun fact about yourself?

A: I’ve taught most of my family members how to swim.
