Looking for a fun way to keep your child active and engaged this summer? Summer Playcation at Major R. Owens Health & Wellness Community Center offers the perfect solution!
Operated by the Asphalt Green Summer Day Camp team, Summer Playcation gives kids the chance to participate in a variety of recreational activities that inspire movement, creativity, and connection with their peers.
Each day brings a new mix of sports, swimming, games, arts & crafts, and themed events, led by experienced staff in a fun, inclusive setting. With a strong emphasis on movement, teamwork, and confidence-building, it’s the perfect option for families looking to keep kids active all summer long — without the full-day camp commitment.

Registrants must sign up for a minimum of two consecutive weeks.

No. Summer Playcation participants must bring their own nut-free lunch and snacks each day.
Summer Playcation is a flexible summer program with weekly options. However, all registrants must sign up for at least two consecutive weeks of the program.

Summer Playcation runs from 9am to 4pm, Mondays through Fridays.
Yes, we offer pre-camp service starting at 8am and after-camp service until 5pm each day.
With New York City’s largest indoor turf field, 3 regulation-sized basketball courts, and air conditioning, the Major R. Owens Health & Wellness Center has emerged as a state-of-the-art multi-sport facility.
Summer Playcation is perfect for families looking for flexible summer programming — whether your child wants to try new activities, stay active between other summer plans, or just have fun with friends in a safe, welcoming environment.
Yes, financial aid is available for Summer Playcation. We offer reduced-rate pricing for families whose household income falls below $60,000, and who are residents of Brooklyn.
We do not offer transportation. Our campus is easily accessible via mass transportation:

– The center is a 5-minute walk from the station.
