Jordan Brackett
As Chief Executive Officer, Jordan Brackett oversees a $40 million-dollar annual operating budget, leads strategic advisory initiatives with the board of directors, and manages over 1,000 employees across Asphalt Green’s campuses and programs.
Jordan has led Asphalt Green through one of the most impactful periods in its over 50-year history. Since joining in 2023, the organization launched its groundbreaking Wave Makers Initiative, developed the River East Elementary School pool into a community aquatics hub, and became the official operator of the Major R. Owens Health and Wellness Community Center in Brooklyn. Jordan has also strengthened the organization’s commitment to accessibility by overseeing the launch of Asphalt Green’s inclusive sports programs. Today, Asphalt Green provides over $10 million in free programming across all five boroughs, ensuring New Yorkers of all ages, backgrounds, and abilities can experience the transformative benefits of sports, fitness, and play.
Prior to Asphalt Green, Jordan’s held notable leadership positions in public service, including Executive Director of the Educational Alliance’s 14th Street Y, senior roles in New York City government, and serving as an advisor to Mayor Bloomberg on health and human services policy. Earlier in his career, Jordan practiced law in financial restructuring. He holds degrees from Swarthmore College and Boston College Law School, with additional study at NYU School of Law. Jordan also serves on the Executive Committee of Union Square Partnership and the Board of Advisors of Eisner & Crane Lake Camps. Formerly, he served as Vice President of East End Temple.
Outside of Asphalt Green, Jordan enjoys running, reading, watching sports, cooking, and spending time with his family. In an era of polarization, he is inspired by Asphalt Green’s ability to bring people together and believes that by improving the lives of everyone who participates in our programs, we make our city stronger.
