Intro to Swimming is a beginner-level class for students 5 and older and designed for those with no experience swimming. Our instructors will work with the children to learn independence in the water, to submerge, to enter and exit the pool without assistance, breath control, assisted front and back floats. They will also use equipment like a kickboard to help build a foundation of kicking skills for Freestyle, Backstroke and Dolphin Kick, and swimming skills for Freestyle and Backstroke.

Children will learn basic martial arts techniques including kicking punching and grappling while improving balance coordination and rhythm. The program instills the values of self-control concentration respect and teamwork. Introductory 40-minute sessions prepare young athletes for our advanced Sport Martial Arts program and other competitive sports programs at Asphalt Green.
