Designed for athletes ages 5-8 years of age who are new to the aquatic's environment and/or recently beginning their aquatics journey. This program invites all children who attend NYC public or charter schools in District 4, and residents of zip codes: 10029, 10035, 10037, 10030, 10039.

Why Attendance Matters:To ensure the success of all swimmers and the efficient use of resources, participants must attend at least 75% of sessions. This policy helps foster consistent development and progress. Participants who fail to meet this attendance policy may be subject to removal in subsequent terms.

Prerequisites: Students should have passed our Core Level 1 class or should be able to perform Freestyle, Backstroke, and Dolphin kick with and without a kickboard, perform the strokes for Freestyle and Backstroke, and understand basic motor patterns for Breaststroke and Butterfly.

Students in Core Level 2 will become more precise and well-rounded swimmers. Our instructors will continue to advance swimmers’ understanding of lane etiquette through exposure to circle swimming and more repetitions during each session. Students will review body movement and kicking skills for all four strokes and be taught drill progressions to help cement these skills. Students at this level will be asked to kick and swim with a combination of skill and speed.
