Our Competitive Youth Basketball Team
Asphalt Green Basketball is a dynamic, high-energy youth program for dedicated athletes ages 8 to 16. Our tryout-based teams are home to some of the area’s most talented players, competing year-round in local and national leagues and tournaments.
Guided by elite coaches and athletic trainers, our players train in a challenging and supportive environment at Asphalt Green’s Battery Park City campus. With practices twice a week, athletes sharpen their skills, elevate their speed and agility, and build peak physical fitness.

Staff, structure and options- All our coaches are USA certified and follow our carefully constructed curriculum. Asphalt Green basketball academies and leagues feature gameplay and skill instruction. Whether you’re playing basketball for the first time, trying to scratch the competitive itch in a controlled environment, Asphalt Green’s recreational programming has something for all skill levels.
Asphalt Green recreational programming has offerings for children ages 3-13.
The one major difference is gameplay. During our acadmies the focus of each session will be on an individual and team skill of the week. These sessions will be geared towards improving specific skills in a controlled environment without the pressure of competition. Our recretional league is our in-house league. All games take place at our Battery Park City location. Participants will receive a jersey, head coach and gameplay each week.
Youth Basketball Private Lessons are available for athletes ages 6 to 18. Training sessions are tailored to the athlete’s age, skill level, and goals.
Our trainers are experienced basketball coaches with a strong background in working with youth athletes. They specialize in skill development, fitness, and creating a positive, encouraging environment.
Yes! Our personal training is fully customizable to suit each athlete’s goals, whether they’re beginners looking to learn the fundamentals or advanced players seeking to refine specific skills.
The frequency of private lessons depends on your child’s goals and schedule. Many athletes train 1–2x per week to complement team practices or recreational play.
