What Are Four Easy Ways To Add Movement Into My Day?
1. Build in Time to Stretch
Stretching is a simple, overlooked, and impactful form of movement. Taking a few minutes at the beginning or end of each day to open up your hips, shoulders, legs, and spine can enhance your mobility and reduce tension, with just a few minutes offering great benefits. Making stretching a part of your daily routine is a great way to move more.
2. Rethink Your Commute
If you spend part of your day “on the move” already driving to work or taking public transportation, consider taking part of your commute on foot. Getting off a stop early to get in your steps, choosing the stairs over the elevator, or biking your route can all make a big difference.
3.Take Your Call on the Move
If your day-to-day is filled with virtual meetings and phone calls to friends and family, know that they don’t all have to be seated by your desk. Whenever you can, walking during calls is a practical solution to breaking up longer sedentary periods while remaining productive.
