Playground Pathways is a structured, inclusive physical activity class that supports children of all abilities in developing foundational motor, social, and play skills in a community recreation setting.

Participants engage in guided activities that build coordination, balance, strength, and motor planning through playground-based movement such as climbing, swinging, balancing, and navigating obstacle-style challenges. Sessions also include opportunities to learn and practice common playground and recess games that promote turn-taking, following directions, communication, and cooperative play with peers.

Participants complete an intake form prior to joining so instructors can better understand each child’s strengths, support needs, and goals. Asphalt Green’s classes are designed to support participants with a range of needs including, but not limited to, ADHD, Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, gross motor delays, Down syndrome, and other developmental differences.

The sessions are facilitated by trained instructors and assistants who provide individualized support, prompting, and activity modifications as needed to help participants build independence, confidence, and meaningful peer engagement. Activities are designed to support skill development that can generalize to playgrounds, schools, and other community recreation environments.

All classes are open to the public and welcome participants of all abilities. At Asphalt Green, Everyone Plays.
