Prerequisites: Students should have passed our Core Level 1 class or should be able to perform Freestyle, Backstroke, and Dolphin kick with and without a kickboard, perform the strokes for Freestyle and Backstroke, and understand basic motor patterns for Breaststroke and Butterfly.

Students in Core Level 2 will become more precise and well-rounded swimmers. Our instructors will continue to advance swimmers’ understanding of lane etiquette through exposure to circle swimming and more repetitions during each session. Students will review body movement and kicking skills for all four strokes and be taught drill progressions to help cement these skills. Students at this level will be asked to kick and swim with a combination of skill and speed.

Prerequisites: Students should have passed our Pre-School Level 3 class, or our Intro to Swimming class, or should be able to perform Freestyle and Dolphin kick with a kickboard, perform side-breathing for Freestyle, and perform Backstroke with straight-arm recovery.

Core Level 1 is designed for young swimmers to continue to refine their strokes and advance their skill sets for water safety, body awareness, and stroke mechanics for Backstroke and Freestyle, including bi-lateral breathing. Through advanced swimming instruction, our students will also continue to develop kicking and body mechanics for freestyle, backstroke, butterfly and breaststroke kick as well as underwater streamline push-offs.

Children will learn basic baseball skills and rules of the game in Tee Ball Clinic. To prepare for tee ball season your player will practice proper swing form correct grip on the bat fielding ground balls catching fly balls and different fielding stances in sequence. The instructor will also cover game flow fielding positions and situational plays. Tee Ball Clinic will focus on kid-friendly drills that foster a love for the sport of baseball.

Playground Pathways is a structured, inclusive physical activity class that supports children of all abilities in developing foundational motor, social, and play skills in a community recreation setting.

Participants engage in guided activities that build coordination, balance, strength, and motor planning through playground-based movement such as climbing, swinging, balancing, and navigating obstacle-style challenges. Sessions also include opportunities to learn and practice common playground and recess games that promote turn-taking, following directions, communication, and cooperative play with peers.

Participants complete an intake form prior to joining so instructors can better understand each child’s strengths, support needs, and goals. Asphalt Green’s classes are designed to support participants with a range of needs including, but not limited to, ADHD, Autism, Sensory Processing Disorder, gross motor delays, Down syndrome, and other developmental differences.

The sessions are facilitated by trained instructors and assistants who provide individualized support, prompting, and activity modifications as needed to help participants build independence, confidence, and meaningful peer engagement. Activities are designed to support skill development that can generalize to playgrounds, schools, and other community recreation environments.
