Springboard Diving

Overview

Asphalt Green’s Springboard Diving programs includes offernigs for youth and adult swimmers in our Upper East Side campus’ Olympic pool. Youth participants can choose from beginner, intermediate, and advanced-level courses. All classes are led by our expert swim instructors, emphasize safety and injury prevention, and focus on fundamentals such as straight dives, tuck dives, pike dives, somersaults, and more.

Youth and Adult Springboard Diving classes take place at Asphalt Green’s state-of-the-art aquatics facility on the Upper East Side, featuring competition-grade diving boards.

In our beginner, intermediate, and advanced diving classes, swimmers learn and refine diving skills, including tuck rolls, tuck dives, pike dives, front hurdles, open and closed pike positions, and proper hand placement for rip-entry.

Instructors will also cover diving vocabulary, diving board safety, and exercises and stretches to prevent injury and improve diving practice.

Participants will learn:

  • Proper diving form and technique
  • Approaches and takeoffs
  • Safe entries into the water
  • Progression of dives based on skill level (front dives, back dives, and beyond)

This program is open to adults aged 18 and older. Whether you’re a beginner or have some diving experience, our classes are tailored to meet your skill level.

Participants should be comfortable swimming in deep water.
